Died: December 17, 1843 in Iredell County, North Carolina.

Born: December 12, 1763 in St Mary's County, Maryland.
Died: August 22, 1854 in Iredell County, North Carolina.
Burial: St. James Episcopal, Iredell County, North Carolina.
Charles & Elizabeth were married January 17, 1779 in St Mary's County, Maryland.
To avoid any confusion: This Elizabeth was the niece of Admiral Rial of Marseilles, France. Her mother was Jane Compton (Mills). She was Charles' 1st cousin. They were married at All Faith's Parish in Maryland by the Rev. John Stephens.

While he was not in combat, he was a member of the Junior Reserves, and was in George Washington's camp at times during the Revolution. Charles and his family first settled at Cleveland, Rowan County, but later moved to Shinnsville in Iredell County, North Carolina. This location was approximately half way between Statesville and Mooresville and about 3 miles off the main road near Shepherds.
Charles Nathaniel Mills was a doctor.

It should be noted that the "(2)" behind his name indicates that his parents (Charles Nathaniel & Elizabeth Mills) gave 2 of their children the same name, and in this case, this is the 2nd of the 2 John Baptist Mills children.
Charles Nathaniel Mills is buried at St. James Episcopal, Iredell County, North Carolina.
